This class is designed to guide learners through the process of writing an Informational Essay with a licensed, experienced elementary teacher. ✍🏻 Session #1: Introduction to Essay Writing -Introduction to the basic structure of a 5-paragraph essay. -Learn how to choose a topic and begin research. -Discuss how to craft a clear thesis statement. ✍🏻Session #2: Crafting the Introduction -Develop an engaging hook to draw readers in. -Provide background information relevant to the topic. -Construct a thesis statement that clearly outlines the essay's argument. ✍🏻Session #3: Writing the Body Paragraphs -Structure each body paragraph with a clear topic sentence. -Support your ideas with detailed examples and evidence. -Ensure each paragraph stays focused on a specific point. ✍🏻Session #4: Creating a Strong Conclusion -Summarize key points from the body paragraphs. -Restate the thesis in different words. -Offer a final thought or call to action to leave a lasting impression. ✍🏻Session #5: Improving Flow & Transitions -Learn to use transition words and phrases for smoother reading. -Ensure logical progression of ideas from one paragraph to the next. -Review the importance of academic vocabulary for clarity. ✍🏻Session #6: Proofreading & Final Edits Focus on grammar, spelling, and sentence structure. Class structure: 👩🏻🏫 Each class will begin with a mini-lesson that teaches the specific skill for the day, such as writing an introduction, developing body paragraphs, or using transition words. ✍🏻 After the mini-lesson, learners will have time to work independently on their essays. During this time, the teacher will confer with students individually, providing personalized support and feedback. 🎤At the end of class, learners can share their paragraphs with teacher and other learners.

Welcome to my online classroom! I am Ms. Webster and I am so excited to provide engaging, fun, and interactive lessons for each learner that takes my class on Outschool. I am eager to provide an opportunity and assist learners in being successful inside and outside the classroom!
I have been teaching elementary school for eight years. My first year included tutoring reading and math to students in kindergarten up to sixth grade. My other years have been in the general education classroom where I have taught language arts, science, and social studies to fourth and fifth grade students. I have a bachelor’s degree in Family Studies and a master’s degree in Elementary Education, as well as a teaching license in Early Childhood Education. In addition, I completed over 100 hours in a reading summer camp to achieve my Reading Endorsement K-12. I am licensed to teach preschool-fifth grade in all subject areas. Throughout my years of teaching, I have been rated “accomplished,” which is the highest rating through Ohio’s Teacher Evaluation System. In addition, in the past, I have held the title for my grade level on our schools Building Leadership Team, as well as being a part of the districts Learning Leaders.
