Video Editor Scavenger Hunt
• Quickly create a simple movie by completing tasks in a video editing program of your choice. This will set you up to know some of the possibilities for your movie. 
 Week 2

Screenwriting
• Get an introduction to the movie-making process and genres. 
• Learn about the elements of a screenplay and receive a screenplay template to guide you through writing a story in screenplay format.  
 Week 3
Lesson 3
Storyboarding
• Learn about the different types of shots and their purposes and think about the visual look of your movie. 
• Create a visual plan for your movie using your script and what you have learned about different shot types. 
 Week 4
Lesson 4
Production Planning 
• Plan for everything you need before you start filming.

You are welcome start filming your movie after this class but may also want to wait for the next lesson which is on filming. 
 Week 5
Lesson 5
Filming: Composition and Lighting
• Learn how to compose interesting shots that direct your viewers attention to the most important information. 
• Learn about how we see light, how cameras work, and different types of lighting for a scene. 
 Week 6
Lesson 6
Video Editing
• Sequence your shots to tell your story and add titles and transitions as finishing touches.
