As we progress through lessons your child will demonstrate improved reading fluency, comprehension, and confidence, fostering a love for reading and enhancing their overall literacy skills. 

I have experience teaching reading in K-2 classrooms. In my classes, I met with groups of children daily for leveled guided reading practice. This class will be similar, but 1-on-1 instead of with a group.

I have also taught ESL virtually to children aged 4-16.

Homework may include a worksheet covering one of the skills or reading concepts from the lesson. We will review it at the beginning of the next class.

I can also give book suggestions once I know your child's reading level and interests. You can use these suggestions to look for books that might be a good fit for your child to read in their free time.

An assessment will be given in the first class together to gauge the approximate reading level. Assessments will also be given at appropriate times when I feel your child is ready to move to the next reading level.
