In this second class of my 3-part series of Let's Research, students will learn the different types of reference materials. In this second part, we will focus on encyclopedias and what the difference is between the different types. We will explore when to use an encyclopedia and how to locate information in a set as well as online. KEYWORDS: ENCYCLOPEDIA, SEARCH, KEYWORD As a librarian and reading teacher, I know the importance of these tools and using them. I will make reference to print as well as digital sources for the lesson. We will see a short video to help more visual learners. We will use the vocabulary and practice for the learners that need the support auditorially. I will challenge them and adapt as well if needed to make sure they are having fun and learning at the same time! I am a teacher of over 25 years and I love to see students learn and 'get it'! I am a teacher that gets excited and enjoys connecting with students but I can also calm down when needed as well. I hope to see you in the classroom!

The students have taken the first part including dictionary and thesaurus. We build upon those skills. Alphabetical Order, Guide Words.
受講に必要なもの
If there is a one-subject encyclopedia available, this would be great for reference but not needed. Some children might have a dinosaur encyclopedia or a space encyclopedia handy.
