We will journey through the Spanish alphabet one letter at a time. Each class meeting will focus on one letter. Using the letter of the day, we will learn Spanish vocabulary words that begin with the letter of the day. Students will practice saying the words and have visuals and short stories that give them a context in which to learn the new words. We will play games and sing songs to help cement the knowledge that is gained in class. In addition to the new vocabulary based on the letter of the day, students will also learn how to greet and say goodbye to their friends. We will learn some basic conversation as well. Students will become comfortable using their new Spanish phrases as we will practice them in each class. The class format will be similar to the following 1. Sing Spanish hello song and greet teacher and classmates in Spanish 2. Sing alphabet song in Spanish and introduce the letter of the day 4. Complete interactive, fun learning activities to practice the letter sound. 5. Learn vocabulary words that begin with the letter of the day. 5. Sing Spanish goodbye song I believe in class participation and using our entire bodies to engage in learning. Class will be fun and full of energy as I want my students to eagerly anticipate the next class! Students are welcome to join our class at any time as no prior knowledge is necessary. Week of August 15: A Week of August 22: B Week of August 29: C Week of September 5: D Week of September 12: E Week of September 19: F Week of September 26: G Week of October 3: H Week of October 10: I Week of October 17: J Week of October 24: L And so on...
