This eight-session class will introduce young learners to all letters of the alphabet, focusing on 3-4 letters each class. Each letter will be taught by using picture clues to encourage the learners to say the sound of each letter, then name the letters. After the learners are introduced to each letter, we will find more pictures beginning with the correct sound and I will demonstrate the correct letter formation to write the letter. This is a fun, interactive, lively class! Each learner is asked to repeat the given letters and sounds, and has a chance to share their own ideas of new words beginning with the letter. Everyone is also encouraged to write the letters and words on their own based on their ability. Learners do not need any previous experience with the alphabet to be successful in this class! This class is perfect for preschool and kindergarten students ready to be introduced to the letters and sounds of the English language. Week 1: Mm, Bb, Ss Week 2: Tt, Rr, Aa Week 3: Ff, Jj, Dd Week 4: Hh, Ee, Cc Week 5: Ll, Gg, Vv Week 6: Oo, Pp, Ww Week 7: Nn, Kk, Ii, Qq Week 8: Yy, Xx, Zz, Uu Letters are not introduced in alphabetic order, rather they are in an order that is easier for young children to pronounce and write.

Students will discover the sounds each of the 26 letters of the alphabet make and identify words beginning with that sound. Over the course of the week, each student will learn many different examples of each letter sound and begin using the sounds to make and read words!

Learners are requested to have writing materials to write the letters we learn each day. If writing materials are not available, students may use fingers to write in the air or the annotate feature in Zoom to write on the screen!

I have a variety of classes to offer including kindergarten and first grade reading/ phonics skills, story read alouds and discussions, and how to care for guinea pigs!
I have taught almost all ages of children for many years, from infant through sixth grade, as well as been an early intervention (birth to three) parent educator and online ESL teacher. I homeschooled my twin boys for the year before they entered kindergarten and it was a most wonderful time in my life that I would love to share with other families and children!
I have been married to my high school sweetheart for twenty years. We have a musically and artistically talented seventeen year old daughter and smart and funny identical twin twelve year old boys.
