In this one-time course, students will learn about chicken care for a small farm or backyard setting. We will start with basic chicken anatomy and discuss how eggs are made, hatching fertilized eggs for chicks (incubator vs. natural), what chicks need when they are little and as they grow, how to handle your chickens, egg collection and care, and how to keep your hens and roosters happy and healthy by providing enough space, shelter, food, water, and places to roost and lay eggs.
