このクラスで学べること
This is a drawing class, where students will draw on a printed document (1 page, two sides, color or bw) in pencil, pen, and finally in pencil crayons/markers. Class Schedule: Week of Jan 31: Cuddly Animals Week of Feb 7: Powerful Animals Week of Feb 14: High Flyers Week of Feb 21: Underwater Animals Week of Feb 28: Insects and Arachnids Week of Mar 7: Big Cats Week of Mar 14: Un-pet-worthy animals Week of Mar 21: Home Lovers Class Details: The class is composed of a PowerPoint section at the beginning, and a drawing section at the end. During the drawing section I will draw on my iPad, sharing the screen with the students. After introducing myself to the class, I want to make sure they have all the drawing tools and a dice. Next we’re going to learn about the animal in question; every class I’ll introduce some cool facts about our chosen animal (eg. Amazing things about Wolves). This allows us to chat about the animal and discuss before the drawing. Next I will direct the students to their print out page (it can be color or black/white). On one side it has a photo of the animal and a dotted outline. This dotted outline will become the students’ colorful animal. On the other side of the page we have a grid, where we can practice drawing various animal parts (eg. Mouth, eyes, nose) before we do it on the real drawing. Not only will we practice together, we will work together on the drawing and inking section. Up to this point, the students will all draw a similar drawing: a cartoon version of the animal in question! We’ll draw it in pen, then erase the underlying pencil sketch with a soft eraser. There’s one more part - just for fun, we want the animal to have magic powers. As such, I’ve asked all students to bring a dice. I have one more PowerPoint slide that shares the Element value for each number 1-6 (eg. If a student rolls a 3, his monster is a Water type monster). This means he/she will use white/blue/green colors to color their unique animal! Update: Starting Mar 29, we'll be providing even more fun in this class. Monday/Wednesday - Live Drawing Session Tuesday - Writing prompt related to the animals Thursday - Mad Libs fun game! Friday - Crossword Simple + Advanced
学習到達目標
The goal here is to teach the students about drawing and build their confidence at a young age to embrace various characters they love and be proud of themselves at what they created. The goal here is CONFIDENCE, not perfection.
A secondary goal is to excite young learners about animals, learning amazing things about animals in the real world!
