In this class, we will work together to learn the steps needed to create each portion of our adorable black cat and pumpkin. Different camera views will be used to show each step of the way. We will condition, cut, roll and form our pieces. Then we will assemble our body parts. The supplies are listed below and are necessary to complete the project. Students may personalize their cat with a bow, hat or collar after the basic steps and proportions are learned. Sculpting Medium (any...
Sculpting Medium (any brand/type you prefer. I like to use Sculpey Polymer Clay). *A little clay goes a LONG way in miniature sculpting! Basic Sculpting tools, toothpick, smoothing tool, dotting tool (for eye sockets) A cutting tool (can be flat spatula, clay knife, anything that you are comfortable with using) A non stick surface to work on (You can cover a piece of cardboard with parchment paper and tape it to the bottom…that works) A small rolling pin or paintbrush handle or anything smooth to roll out small pieces of clay. Toothpick cut in half (for connecting the head to body) Colors of polymer clay used to make the sample are black, orange, green, yellow, purple. Acrylic paint pens can be used after baking for tiny details OPTIONAL: If using baked clay: Clear Water based gloss glaze for after baking (I use Sculpey Gloss Glaze). I will go over how to lacquer the clay after baking if the students want a professional, glossy finished look.
学習者は、Outschoolが提供する基本ツール以外のアプリやウェブサイトを使用する必要はありません。
**Polymer clay requires baking according to the package direction. (Generally ~275 °F/130 °C, depending on your brand of clay). You may do this after class. Parental help is necessary.
