Let's face it. LEGO bricks are awesome! They have so much to offer despite their simple nature.

Students can learn a lot with LEGO bricks and here are a few examples:
- Critical thinking
- Focus and Determination
- Planning and Strategizing
- Engineering
- Collaboration and Social Skills
- Power of Imagination

Remember that game "I'm going to Grandma's house and I'm taking..." The first person would choose something to take to Grandma's house starting with the letter A. The next person would choose the letter B and so on. 
This class is structured in this manner. Each person will have a different letter and build what they would bring.

One class would be "I'm going to the woods and I'm taking..."
Another class would be "I'm going to the beach and I'm taking...."
These are just two examples. 
The adventure possibilities are endless. 

Here's how it will be different each class...

Class structure:
- I will introduce the place we are "going to."
- Students will be assigned a letter of the alphabet.
- Students will choose the item they will "bring" on the adventure. If they need help, I will have ideas for them to choose from. 
- Once everyone has chosen their item to build, I will set a timer. 
- When the timer goes off, each student will show their final product.
- As time permits, we will repeat the previous steps choosing the next set of letters in the alphabet.

**There is no pressure to build exact replicas of the items. The goal of this class is to have fun building!
** No prior experience is needed.
** Students will be able to communicate with me and the other students.

受講に必要なもの

There is no specific LEGO Set needed for the Class. 
Students just need to have some LEGO Bricks (or compatible brands) for building in each session. 
The LEGO Classic Series or LEGO Creator have lots of good building elements.

Hi! 
Welcome to my classroom.

I love playing music. I play acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, ukulele, dulcimer, and recorder. I've played in many bands over the years, and my wife and I write music together.

I have enjoyed folding origami since I was a teenager. When I was in high school, my parents had me decorate the Christmas tree exclusively with gold and silver foiled origami stars and angels. Even today, it gives me something to do in any situation since there is usually a piece of paper or napkin lying around.

I have been teaching our children music for the past 3 years as part of our homeschooling. I also teach them origami, math, coding, science, knot tying, and fire building. I supplement with Minecraft to make these subjects fun. 

I am a huge advocate of the "9 Intelligences." My approach to teaching is that everyone is an excellent learner in the way they are "wired" to learn. I try to discover their way and use it to teach my students. 

I have a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies.

Fun fact: My family and I play music at nursing homes for those residents that are unable to experience the community.
