Will learn how to prompt ChatGPT for their preferred response. In this one-time workshop, students will be walked through the SignUp and LogIn process to create a personal ChatGPT account Then students will practice formulating the accurate prompts to that the AI can understand and give the expected response. They will also learn how to iterate their responses to ensure ChatGTP AI fully understands their requests and instructions. This is a practical workshop, so students will learn by doing. The idea will be demonstrated and then students will repeat the idea until we have completed the worksheet.

ChatGPT is an AI language model developed to understand and respond to human-like texts based on prompts received from the user.
The easiest way to think about ChatGPT is like an intelligent assistant who is able to understand and answer all questions, well most questions. Because of this, Parents should be aware that ChatGPT requires a hard activation of the kidfriendly mode suitable for minors - which all students will be required to activate at the beginning of the workshop for all students by typing the following prompt "Use only kid-friendly replies to prompts. Adhere strictly to this rule" - this ensures ChatGPT adheres to only providing child friendly responses for the workshop. Although it is important to understand that if the student creates another chat within the account, they could deactivate this mode, because it is not the default on a chat and has to be activated.
For this workshop, students will need to create a ChatGPT account to use the AI tool and get the most benefit from it. This account can be family account and parents can assign a Chat for the student and other members of the family that they can use when using the tool .
The student will also need a phone number which will receive the account verification code before they can use the tool. To recap, the student will need a working non-VIOP Phone Number, an active family email address to create and start using ChatGPT. Instructions on creating the account will be provided during the workshop.
