You're invited to learn how to tie your shoes! The teacher has worked in preschools and daycares. She has successfully taught many students to tie their shoes. I know you can do it!  We will laugh, play and practise together. Giggles and fun are welcome while we learn about tying our shoes the easy way while we socialize. My goal is to create a relaxing atmosphere so students do not feel overwhelmed with the learning process. 

We will start class by meeting each other at a virtual bus stop then taking the bus to our virtual school. All virtual school features provided by the teacher, learners only need to join the zoom meeting as usual. The teacher will welcome each learner and complete a mindfulness activity to encourage focus and comprehension. After practicing mindfulness, the teacher will demonstrate tying her shoes then guide students through a hands-on practise round. We will continue practising together while allowing students to show their new skill if they choose! Nobody will be required to share. 

After we complete the lesson, students will pretend to travel home on the virtual bus together. Following Montessori principles, students will be encouraged to feel proud of themselves and will be praised for their effort. 

We can create a section for older learners if your child would be more comfortable taking class with peers closer in age. You're never too old to learn! The Friendship Haven classroom is welcoming, positive and social. Our goal is for your child to gain the skills required for lifetime of self-guided learning. As they show interest in different things around them, we will guide their curiosity with fun education. In the virtual classroom we use components of a Montessori school by finding common household objects to nurture engagement and understanding during class. Our pace and lessons will vary depending on the needs of each student and the class as a whole.
