Welcome to your first steps in learning piano! In this class we start from the very beginning to learn to use our fingers, identify finger numbers, and move to learning our note values and recognizing patterns in music. This fun curriculum includes songs, actions, and a lot of piano playing. Michelle holds a Bachelor degree in Music Education and a Masters in Music Performance. She is certified as an elementary piano instructor with the Royal Conservatory of Music where she studied piano pedagogy for young beginners to ensure proper habits from the beginning. Michelle has taught young students for countless years and has three children of her own.

Students are asked to practice their piano every day that they have to eat. If you have an especially busy day and have to miss that is ok but do your best to make piano practice part of your daily schedule. It only needs to be for about 10 minutes each day but regular practice is the key to success in this program.授業以外に週あたり 1 - 2 時間の学習が期待されます

Each student will be required to have our piano method to work from. This may be purchased from your local music store or online. Faber Piano Method- My First Piano Adventures lesson book(CD included) and accompanying writing workbook- Level A(yellow books) -Keyboard or piano to practice and play together from home
Please make sure to check the times for each class. Daylight savings time (if you have or don't have) may affect your schedule later on. I highly recommend a parent sit with students ages 4-6 especially to help them open their books, find their spot, know what practice is assigned and help with any problems they may have.
