In this creative writing class, students will learn to take a dull setting, such as a dentist's waiting room, or a detention, and create a vivid and exciting description which will have readers on the edge of their seat! Students will brainstorm ideas building on the five senses, and will use their knowledge of language devices such as metaphors and personification to create a thrilling description. Learners will get the opportunity to share their ideas and their writing with others, receiving supportive and constructive feedback from their peers and the teacher.

I believe that every student should find a passion in learning, and a desire to expand their knowledge of the world around them. My classes therefore often include an exploration of political issues, or issues of social justice. I am also very passionate about English literature and language and am eager to spread a love of reading to my students.
