This three week session class is designed to allow the student to progressively learn how to sew with a sewing machine. I fell in love with sewing when I was just a little girl. Both my grandmother and mother loved to sew and passed on the gift of knowledge to me. I currently teach kids and adults how to sew and have an online store in which I sell handbags and wallets among other items. Sewing is a life skill that will always be useful, rewarding and has the potential to become a source of income.

Basic Sewing supplies: cotton fabric 24” x 24” and 2 - 6" x "6 (can be from a recycled cotton shirt 2 - 12” x 12” pieces and 2 - 6" x 6"), chalk, pencil, straight pins with pincushion or a place for pins, thread matching your fabric, scissors for paper and a separate pair for fabric. Poly-fill stuffing for your small pillow. Cutting surface: a surface big enough to set fabric, pattern and a cutting mat.
Parents are encouraged to be present to help and support their student with any issues that may occur. Young students may require help handling sharp tools and keeping their hands at a safe distance from the sewing needle while sewing. They may also need assistance downloading and printing patterns. *Parents, please go over your manual and help your child familiarize themselves with their particular sewing machine.
