This course teaches a little over 100 Latin and Greek root words and several prefixes and suffixes. By the end of the course, learners could learn up to 500 vocabulary words depending on the participation and interactions of the class. The number of vocabulary words learned is up to each individual, but they will at least learn 100 from the root words alone. The lessons in the classes will be presented via video. We might use hydro in hydrate but we do not use aqua the same way. We do not aquanate. We go to the aquarium but not the hydrarium. This lesson will explain how to recognize Root Words while reading and how to expand all the Root Words from the 4 lists into many more vocabulary words.
Students will improve and expand their vocabulary, learn better spelling from learning the root words, learn how to better pronounce words from learning the root words, and they will be able to recognize unfamiliar words from knowing the word's root.
