Previous knowledge required: A working knowledge of English parts of speech and how it relates to Latin cases; 1st/2nd/3rd noun/adjective declensions and cases; 1st/2nd /3rd and Esse/Posse verb conjugations in the past, future, and imperfect tenses; rudimentary vocabulary including common conjunctions and prepositions; demonstrative pronouns (hic/ille/iste). If this is your first class with me, I will send you a vocabulary list prior to class starting so you can refer to it as we work. 

This class will focus on personal pronouns - ego, tu, is. We will also review the demonstrative pronouns and personal adjectives and use them all together in practice translations. This is quite an important class, because the patterns in the endings of adjectives and pronouns start making sense and coming together for students. There will be some new vocabulary, but mostly, we will stress on the correct usage of the pronouns and adjectives. 

This is a very interactive class. We do repetition, drills, and sight reading. We discuss Roman culture, linguistics, and how Latin still affects many modern languages. Education is a conversation, and your voice is valued. Please feel free to share ideas, comments, and ask questions!
