The goal of this class is to keep kids reading and engaging in text over school breaks, a time when students often lose skills. This will be a guided reading lesson where students are given chances to read, think critically, and respond to questions about the story. Student will have a chance to collaborate with other students in order to share their ideas. Class is structured as followed:

Introductions- 5 minutes 
Background Knowledge discussion- 5 minutes 
Reading and Inferring- 25 minutes
Creative Sharing- 10 minutes 

My teaching style is to work from student strengths, make students feel comfortable and get to know each student. Beginner readers are welcome.

Classes begin November 27th and run through January. These are one time class.

The reading passages that will be read are: 
-The Christmas Carol
-The Nutcracker
The Elves and the Shoemaker
