Welcome to the 3rd level of our exciting and unique K-1 class! In this class, we will continue learning and practicing important skills that are necessary for a successful year in Kindergarten and 1st grade. We will also delve into some language learning as a part of this class. 

All learners are welcome to join at any time! 

For new students joining at this level, please keep in mind the following skills that current students have been introduced to and have had practice with: 

- identifying all 26 letters and sounds of the alphabet
- spelling 3 to 6 letter words by sight and memory
- reading all sight words from Dolch's PreK and Kindergarten lists 
- reading 10 page, age appropriate stories with 2 to 3 sentences per page 
- adding and subtracting 1 and 2 digit numbers on a number line and with manipulatives 
- identifying and naming coins and amounts
- counting coins mixing pennies with nickels and dimes 
- we will continue counting our days of class which will begin at this level from number 81. 

Each week, we will continue to focus on each of these important concepts which also includes calendar information such as days of the week, months of the year in two languages. We will continue counting, adding, subtracting, reading, writing, spelling, rhyming and we will do more writing. We will use a variety of engaging teaching techniques such as chanting, singing, call and response, and interactive activities.

- Multilingual Calendar Routine
- Alphabet - letters, blends and sounds, phonics 
- Spelling
- Colors and Shapes
- Math - counting, adding, subtracting, money
- Sight Words 
- Rhyming - phonics, word families
- Reading - learn vocabulary, fluency building and writing

⭐Week of Feb. 12th: Dolch Sight Words: Grade 1 List, Counting from: 86-90, Adding pennies with dimes, Time - the minute hand
⭐Week of Feb. 19th: Dolch Sight Words: Grade 1 List, Counting from: 91-95, Adding dimes and nickels, Time by the hour and half hour
⭐Week of Feb. 26th: Dolch Sight Words: Grade 1 List, Counting from: 96-100, Adding nickels and quarters, Time by 5 minutes
⭐Week of Mar. 4th: Dolch Sight Words: Grade 2 List, Counting from: 101-105, Adding mixed coins, Time by one minute
⭐Week of Mar. 11th: Dolch Sight Words: Grade 2 List, Counting from: 106-110, Adding mixed coins, Reading clocks
⭐Week of Mar. 18th: Dolch Sight Words: Grade 2 List, Counting from: 111-115, Adding mixed coins, Reading clocks
⭐Week of Mar. 25th: Dolch Sight Words: Grade 2 List, Counting from: 116-120, Adding mixed coins, Reading clocks

*Students may repeat this level beginning at week one, or they are welcome to join the 4th level of this class. 

Languages that will be included during our multilingual calendar time: 
Spanish, Arabic and Mandarin Chinese
