This high energy fitness based dance class will take your child through the following components:

Silly song warm up
Stretching
Isolations (Teaching your child to move one body part at a time.)
Silly dance songs that encourage creativity, fun, imagination and also will have them work on gross motor skills, musicality, rhythm and more! 
A short little bit of choreography to an age appropriate high energy song that your child can practice at home!
Cool down
Positive affirmations about themselves to cement their learning in a beautiful way!

This class will involve LOTS of fun movement so you will need to have them dressed in comfy clothes and to have a big enough space to move and groove!

The children will learn dance movements throughout the entire class in every song we use. They will learn rhythm, musicality, improvisation, isolations, hip hop/jazz choreography and how to properly take care of their body before & after class.

Please be aware that this class involves A LOT of big movement so you want to be sure to have your child wear loose, comfortable clothing, have PLENTY of open space to run, skip, hop, wiggle, etc... and to have a water bottle close by as they will get thirsty! If they are on a hardwood floor, adequate footwear is suggested (i.e. Sneakers) but bare feet are sufficient for a carpeted area. Also please be sure that anything breakable or that could hurt them if they bumped into is removed from the area that they will be taking the class from. Finally, although all moves are completely safe for the children, parental guidance is suggested to be sure that they are staying safe! No pre-class stretching is necessary due to the fact that they will get a warm up within the class! :)

I have been teaching dance for the past 39 years. I have taught children from ages 2-18, directed in house dance companies, trained dancers who have gone on to appear in TV, film, work for cruise ships, Disney and more. I have taught creative movement, ballet, beginner tap, jazz, lyrical, modern and beginner children's hip hop. I have taught in dance studios in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Florida and Colorado. I also have taught in magnet schools, private and public high schools, and in numerous day care centers, pre-schools and libraries. Dance is my BIGGEST passion in life (outside of my own 3 children of course!) and nothing makes me happier than sharing my love of dance with kids!
