This course will be an introductory course that will cover the basics of the planets, their moons, the sun, and the asteroid belt. The theory of the formation of the solar system, differences in planet make up (solid versus gaseous), rotation and revolution times, as well as orbital paths, will also be discussed. Albedo, ring structure and formation, and possible water sources will also be introduced. The class will be a PowerPoint Lecture format with open discussion and ample opportunity for questions (which are highly encouraged). No prior experience necessary, and the only requirement is an interest and curiosity in outer space!
