In this ongoing 7-week class, we will mingle, sing and learn Jolly Phonics together. Jolly Phonics is a fun, engaging way to build early reading skills. My name is Kerie Miller. I am a professional author/illustrator working in children's publishing and I work under the pen name Charlie Eve Ryan. I have done projects for both trade books and educational publishers. Everything from picture books to board books and magazine spreads. I also do art workshops. Clients include Page Street Kids, Astra Publishing, Amicus Ink, McGraw Hill, as well as Highlights and Ladybug Magazines.
I'm also an Early Literary Tutor for an online educational company where we work with children in charter schools all over the US. I work with children ages K-2nd grade. We help create future readers.
In the past, I have worked for a local school district as a substitute teaching assistant. I love to teach and interact with budding bookmakers, writers, and artists, while also helping students develop early math, reading, and English skills.
My classes are a place for creatives to explore new ideas and build confidence in their maker skills. A place where art, words, and fun facts collide.
