Introduction to First Vocabulary Words Leading to Correct Written Paragraphs

In these two weeks online course, students will use new vocabulary based on Dolch researched list to write a paragraph with a clear message and grammatically correct.

US Grade Kindergarten - 3
Beginner Level
First, students will write a three to five-sentence paragraph. They will write a sentence using the new word independently. Later, the sentence will be shared with the whole group. Third, they will practice the new vocabulary in a instructional game. Fourth, we will read the student' paragraph. 

In the second week, they will use the new words in a three to five-sentence paragraph. Students will be asked to share their paragraphs with the class. This interactive class is structured to introduce vocabulary, grammar, and writing paragraphs with a clear message. I will provide examples of sentences and a paragraph, the students will be encouraged to read, and to work with partners and independently. At the end of the class, students will have increased their vocabulary and written fluency. 

Students need to have the discipline to sit attentively for at least 30 of the 40 minutes class lesson.

Lesson 1:
Vocabulary of Ten Basic Words Based on the Dolch List
 This lesson is about using a set of vocabulary words to help students practice reading and writing. The words listed are common sight words, often found in early reading programs. The student-generated sentences will show how these words can be used in context, which helps students understand their meaning and usage. The approach mentioned includes writing and reading sentences and paragraphs using vocabulary words and playing games to make learning fun and stress-free.

Lesson 2:
Vocabulary of Next Ten Basic Words Based on the Dolch List
 This lesson focuses on using a of vocabulary the next 10 words to assist students in reading and writing. These words are common sight words frequently encountered in early reading programs. Students will continue generating sentences with both new and previously learned words. Using these words in context in understanding their meaning and usage. The approach includes reading sentences and paragraphs containing vocabulary words and engaging in games to make learning enjoyable.

The student needs to have the discipline to sit, listen, and actively participate for at least 30 of the total of 40 minutes lesson.

I began my teaching career as a substitute teacher in special education in 1997 as I was attending UCF (University of Central Florida) in Orlando, FL and earned my MA Degree in various exceptionalities.  I added three additional Certifications: Contracted Braille, Basic Braille, RESOL (reading and language arts) grades K-12.  To date, I continue teaching online courses although I am a retired teacher. The ages of students taught ranged from preteen years to adults. I enjoy assisting families in their education decisions, as requested.
