ポケモンキャラクターを使った分数入門！

In this one-time class, we will work with our favorite Pokémon characters to understand the concept of fractions. 

We will learn that fractions represent equal parts of a whole, and that equal shares of identical wholes can have different shapes. We will learn about the function of a numerator and denominator as a part-whole concept. We will learn how to write and match different fractions and their representative images. Finally, we will review and consolidate our learning by playing a fun and interactive Kahoot game.  

* Please could students use a separate device (such as an iPad/tablet) for playing Kahoot, as it’ll be tricky to switch between our Outschool class page and Kahoot using the same screen/device. Kahoot is a free, learning-based game platform that enables students to practice their skills. Please note is not necessary to download Kahoot – the website address is: Kahoot.it; I’ll provide a pin for your child to access the game during class :-). * 

Students will also be given the opportunity to practice their understanding of fractions on paper. I’ll post a homework sheet on our Classroom page, for students to print out and complete. They are most welcome to return their completed work, for me to check over.
