This is a basic fractions course.  It will provide scholars with a solid foundation of fractions.  They will be able to name the parts of a fraction and identify fractions of a whole or a set with confidence.  

My course is structure in the I do, we do, you do formate.  I will begin by teaching the topic of fractions.  We will then work on the concepts together and then students will be asked to complete a task on their own to check for understanding.

教師の専門知識と資格

Hello my name is Amanda Copeland.   I am a fifth grade teacher from Chesapeake, Virginia. I graduated with a BS in Elementary Education and a concentration in Mathematics from Eilzabeth City State University.  I also hold a Masters in Instructional Technology from Capella University, and I am working to my Math Specialist Masters.  I have been a teacher for 6 years.  In these 6 years I have taught grades 2, 3, 4, and 5th. 

I am passionate about math.  My students have left my class every year with confidence and the tools they need to be successful in math.  My latest group of students all were able to pass their Virginia state test.

Many of my students have different learning styles and I strive to reach each and everyone of them. Teaching is truly my passion and feel I was born to teach.  In my free time, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends, being outside and watching baseball!
