This class will cover Mandarin Chinese pronunciation, including tones and a brief introduction to Pinyin. Students will learn to ask for someone's name on the first day of class and will continue to have question/answer exchanges each class meeting between both teacher-student and student-student. Students are expected to review vocabulary in between classes with provided videos and/or flashcards. Content is delivered during class and implemented during class activities using games such as matching games, visuals representing dialogue content and so forth. Writing sheets and videos are also provided for those who wish to participate in in the writing portion to learn to write Chinese characters. 
Week 1: Chinese pronunciation and how to ask and answer "What's your name?"
Week 2: Numbers 1-10 and the verb 'to be'
Week 3: Numbers 11-19 and the question, "how many?"
