掛け算入門

In this class, we will cover the basics of multiplication. This class is for students who know their addition facts, but haven't learned multiplication yet. 

The class will start out with a slide presentation so students can easily see visuals for each topic we discuss. Toward the end of class, we will play a game on Kahoot to practice our skills and test our knowledge.

Class Structure and Topics:
1. Warm up: Skip counting and repeated addition problems.
2. Compare repeated addition to multiplication.
3. Find out where the factors come from in a multiplication number sentence.
4. Learn about different ways we can draw a picture to help us solve multiplication problems. (Equal groups and arrays)
5. Practice writing and solving multiplication problems. 
6. Play a Kahoot game to practice our new skills.

Note about Kahoot: Kahoot is FREE and does not require an account to play. Parents will be sent a link to the game before class starts. I do recommend that students use a second device for the game if possible. This could be an iPad, phone, etc. 

Students may need help from an adult accessing this end of class activity.
