Students will be the Interior Designer for a 3 dimensional house. 

Each lesson will begin by learning part of the process of Interior Design. The students will learn house to create a digital project board, how to gather objects and materials. Also, how to texture and place objects in a 3D space. 

Week 1: Introduction to SketchUp and creating a digital project board
Objective: Student will learn how to navigate the 3D space and how to plan out their project.
Student will practice with each tool that is introduced.
Student will learn design vocabulary and how it applies to the space. 
Student will submit their project to the classroom for feedback from the teacher and other students.

Week 2: Collecting objects and materials
Objective: Student will learn more advanced tools and how to manipulate and place projects in their space.
Student will show that they have mastered the basic tools.
Student will submit their project to the classroom for feedback from the teacher and other students.

Week 3: Creating materials and custom pieces.
Objective:  Student will learn to create a custom piece of furniture.
Student will show that they know how to use the tools to create a unique object.  
Student will submit their project to the classroom for feedback from the teacher and other students.

Week 4: Texturing
Objective:  Student will learn how to texture different spaces and continue learning design concepts such as scale.
Student will submit their project to the classroom for feedback from the teacher and other students.

The completed project should be submitted to the Outschool classroom.

The Student may submit up to 3 projects on which to receive feedback. 

*Please note, grades (letter/percentage) are not issued for this course.

**The closing date for classes will be one week after the last session.  Work submitted after the close date will not receive feedback.

For interaction: Students will have a house that they will decorate together. They will be able to add pieces and move them around, as well as, explain their decisions. They will also have the opportunity to post their work in the classroom to share with one another. I will be checking the classroom every Monday and Thursday to give feedback and to answer questions.
