Due to some changes in my freelancing schedule, I plan to teach the remainder of my scheduled classes and then take a hiatus from Outschool. Please note this when selecting classes that build off each other, and choose to book accordingly. I'm happy to recommend other Outschool instructors if you need guidance on where to continue your studies. My name is Megan Conkle, I am a graphic design and social services professional from Ohio! I teach graphic design, language arts, and creative thought for all ages and experience levels. My favorite classes combine all three of these topics so that students can walk away with something tangible to show for their time and energy spent in class.

I have been a freelance graphic designer for 10+ years and have worked with all different sectors including small businesses, non profits, and corporate organizations. I teach on a wide variety of softwares including Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator, but I also have classes on how to use free platforms such as Canva. I also have an English & poetry degree from Wittenberg University and have had my work published numerous times. 

My classroom philosophy revolves around curiosity and exploration. While some aspects of design and software usage are very technical, I still believe that by learning the basics, we can build our own worlds. 

Oh! I also have a co-teacher! My 3 year old pointer x border collie rescue pup Jed! He is almost always by my side, and we have some tricks up our sleeves for our classes!
