Are you ready to make positive changes in your life to overcome social anxiety? This class is for you. In this 6 week multi-day course,  learners will gain an in-depth understanding of the methods used to overcome social anxiety and start to implement them into their lives through the weekly homework assignments. Each week will focus on a different topic:

Class 1: Social Anxiety- What are the causes and effects? What are our individual symptoms? What situations cause us social anxiety? What are safety behaviors? Learn to recognize when you start to feel anxious. 

Class 2: Mindfulness- What is mindfulness? Learn different breathing exercises and other mindfulness activities. 

Class 3:  Challenging negative/ anxious thoughts- Learn how to recognize negative thoughts associated to social anxiety. We will learn how to challenge these negative thoughts through different written activities. 
 
Class 4: Creating goals to overcome social fears- Learn how to create goals to overcome social anxiety in specific or multiple situations. Learners will be given guidance and tips on how to best implement these goals into their lives. 
 
Class 5: Assertiveness and boundaries - Learn how to say "no" or disagree with someone in an assertive manner. Learners will create personal boundaries and learn how to stick to them. 

Class 6: Conversational skills - Learn basic conversational skills. Learners will practice socializing within the group through different social activities. 

There will be homework assigned each week based on what was learned. Learners will have access to me outside of the classroom. I will be following up with learners every week outside of class to check in on their homework and see if they need any more guidance with the tools being learned.

Learners will need a paper and pencil for written activities. 
There will sometimes be worksheets posted in the classroom depending on the week. Learners should print these out.
