Students will be guided through the provided text to improve their close reading skills. I will show them first how they use their reasoning to pull details from the text. Then they will do the work step by step, with me closing guiding. Then they will be paired with another class member to assess how they are understanding and for reinforcement if I see it as necessary. In addition, I go into regaining and maintaining focus when reading and rereading. Your student will also go into how to effectively construct a response.

This is an introduction to a series. The students will strengthen their close reading skills, learning how to read and re-read to pull the needed details from each text they read. This skill is a bedrock for their education and state testing process.

保護者へのお知らせ
Children should be reading 15 to 30 minutes after schooling every day and practicing the steps provided in class. Books/articles can be any genre.
受講に必要なもの
Students will need a notebook to take note of pointers given and pencils.
