During this fun, engaging storytime, I will read If You Give a Cat a Cupcake by Laura Numeroff. While reading, I will pause to allow students to make predictions. We will discuss what cause/effect is, and I will give examples and non-examples for the learners to identify. I will ask students to complete the statement If you give a cat a cupcake, it will. Students will be allowed to share their responses or their favorite from the story. We will then use any of the materials listed and a cupcake pattern that I will provide to make and decorate our cupcakes! If time I will read another Laura Numeroff book and compare and contrast it with If You Give a Cat a Cupcake.

With my expertise in Reading instruction, I strive to help each student develop a lifelong love for reading while achieving academic goals.
My passion is literature. I believe stories make concepts more palpable to children. Stories can teach readers valuable lessons, make them laugh, and see things from a different perspective, or take them somewhere new!
When I have time, I like to travel, experience different cultures, and learn the history of people and places. I am also an animal lover! I have two dogs, have worked with animal rescues, and fostered cats and dogs for years.
