In this ongoing class students will draw different types of dragons each week from the How To Train Your Dragon movie and TV series. Students will learn to use the elements of drawing such as line, shape, textures, form, and space to create their own pencil drawings. This class is a drawing class. We will not be reading any of the books, or watching any movies or series episodes during live class meetings. Students may discuss the books, movies, and TV Series during class and it should be noted that SPOILERS MAY OCCUR! Students will also gain practice drawing individual parts or trouble spots of dragons that sometimes cause frustration for young artists. Extra videos will be linked in the classroom for students to practice with outside of class. The biological, anatomical, and habitat inspirations of each dragon will also be discussed. This class is for kids who love dragons, the How To Train Your Dragon book, movie, and TV Series, and who also love to draw. Students will be directed step by step how to draw each dragon using a slide show and live digital drawing technique. Shading and coloring techniques will also be demonstrated though students may use any technique or medium they choose to complete their drawings. Students may use any drawing/coloring supplies they have on hand and are comfortable with though different mediums may be demonstrated. Upcoming project topics- (dates are approximate) Projects change weekly though topics will repeat. Week of 4/18/22 Toothless Week of 4/25/22 Light Fury Week of 5/2/22 Barf and Belch Week of 5/9/22 Stormcutter Week of 5/16/22 Crimson Goregutter Week of 5/23/22 Deadly Nadder Week of 5/30/22 Green Death Week of 6/6/22 Death Gripper Week of 6/13/22 Monstrous Nightmare Week of 6/20/22 Death Song Additional dragon types will be added weekly.

This class is a drawing class. We will not be reading any of the books during live class meetings. Students may discuss the books during class and it should be noted that spoilers may occur. Because of the more advanced drawing I do not recommend this class for learners outside the specified age range.
