1. Week of March 18: Famous horse breeds 2. Week of March 25: Veterinarian Science 3. Week of April 1: How to care for your horse 4. Week of April 8: Geography of notable horse breeds Students will learn all about famous horse breeds. This class is an interactive class and students will spend time discussing famous horses. Students will be introduced to 3 different horse breeds each week. As we discuss the horse, students will learn geography, social studies and veterinarian science. Students will learn from power point slides and videos. Following the lecture students will play Star Stable together. Interesting Fact: Research shows that Star Stable players are twice as likely to report feeling more self-confidence compared to girls who play other games (61 percent compared to 29 percent). No prior horse experience required to take this class.

--How to spot the horse breed.
--How much does the horse cost.
--Geography, where in the world does that famous horse come from?
--Social Science, what happened in history to that famous horse and why and how did the horse become famous?
--Veterinary science, how does this famous race horse perform, how should the horse be taken care of, how to keep the horse fit and healthy and what not to do to your horse.

Students will need a computer with Star Stable downloaded if they want to play the game during class. If your student has no access to a computer, then they can also watch as we play--I will share my screen.

Hello Future Student,
My name is Professor Margo. I'm a college professor with a PhD. I enjoy teaching and have made a good career teaching others. I joined Outschool because I would like to give back and share my knowledge to aspiring college students. I often integrate an international perspective in my lessons.
Something fun about me--I speak Dutch fluently and have lived in Portugal, The Netherlands, and Norway. I have 4 rescue cats and 2 rescue dogs. My daughters and I enjoy horseback riding. I have won a best teacher award and I have published a number of scientific articles, one that was referenced by the United Nations.
