(Click the "Show Alternative Times" button above) :) ~~ ‘Japanese Katakana Vocabulary’ 4-week On-going course with Teacher Teacher Lynn (リン 先生). ** This class is for Ages 13 – 18 (flexible). Please see our other similar Japanese classes offered for younger students. The Japanese language has become extremely popular due to anime, J-pop and J-dramas! This easy-going on-going course is aimed at students who are interested in starting their Japanese language journey. Discover Japan through its language! In this course, students will be introduced to 1 of the main Japanese writing systems- Katakana. Then, students will decipher a series of Katakana words of animals, clothing, countries, and fruits to their English meaning! Students will be surprised by the Japanese they already know! Students are expected to verbally participate in the class activities and games. Cameras and Microphones are requested to be ON. In this class, all Japanese is accompanied with Rōmaji (Roman alphabet) for easy reading and following along. No prior Japanese language learning is required - Easy Japanese-y! Live class is 2-times a week. Class topics do not build of each other. Course Topics cycle every 2 weeks. [EXAMPLE OF DATES] TOPICS: Dec 5 Animals Dec 6: Fruit Dec 12: Countries Dec 13: Clothing Dec 19: Animals Dec 20: Fruit Dec 26: Countries Dec 27: Clothing Jan 2 Animals Jan 3: Fruit Jan 9: Countries Jan 10: Clothing Cycle continues.... Let’s have fun learning Japanese! Please bring a notebook/paper and pencil/pen to class. Only Zoom on the Outschool platform is used for this class.

Teacher Lynn (リン 先生) completed her Master’s degree in Oita, Japan. She was a teaching assistant for Japanese middle school, high school, and university in-person classes in Japan. She has been living in Japan for 6 years (since 2017). Teacher Lynn not only intensely studied the Japanese language, but fell in love with Japanese culture and discovered the passion for sharing such a beautiful language with students. She has been a private Japanese online tutor for over 3 years.
