Students will improve their understanding of world history as well as modern science through their enthusiasm with fiction, fantasy and mythology.
I have been teaching online since 2018, and have been teaching in general since 2015. I specialize in literature, mythology and anthropology. This class is a combination of my three areas of expertise, bringing together the cultures and histories of ancient civilizations and historical figures with modern literature and myths. I have a BA in English Literature, an MA in Teaching English, a teaching license for the state of Arizona, and several certificates representing coursework in anthropology, mythology, and specialized areas of ELA.

History has both light and dark sides: some of the darker material we will touch upon includes World War II and the need for certain demographics to go into hiding, and how cursed objects become cursed including raiding grave yards and deaths of those who owned cursed items (not graphic, nor detailed)
We will refer to magic as seen in Disney movies, mythology, Percy Jackson, Harry Potter, Dungeons and Dragons, Fablehaven, and Marvel comic books. While it is not required to be familiar with all of these sources as I will explain the references, students will be exposed to spoilers to all of the above books and movies.
