Welcome to kit-tea time, where we discuss cats in history and enjoy a tea social! Domesticated cats have long been companions to humans, almost as long as dogs, so they have a rich history as companions to humans. In this class, we'll talk about a famous cat or collection of cats throughout history and their accomplishments while enjoying a drink and a snack together. But we won't just be discussing cats - feline friends are more than welcome to join in the class and learn about their ancestors who went to space, worked in government, or sailed around the world. This class is designed to be a fun history course and social club, taught through stories - no child is ever too old to enjoy the imagination a story provides! Each meeting will begin with a story reading that lasts for 10 to 15 minutes; the remainder of the class is spent with a free social time. During our social time I encourage learners to unmute themselves and talk freely, which can get hectic at times. Learners have the opportunity to discuss the lesson, chat with peers, and share things that interest them. 2022 Schedule: Pepper, Hollywood's Biggest Cattress Captain Trim, the First Cat to Circumnavigate Australia Mayor Stubbs of Talkeetna, Alaska Tibs the Postal Cat American Pioneer Cats The Magical Maine-Coons behind Mrs. Norris Mrs. Chippy, the Antarctic Ship's Cat Tardar Sauce, a Viral Sensation All Ball the Cat and Koko the Gorilla Beerbohm the Theater Star Marie Antoinette's Royal Cats Tabby, a Buckingham Princess Towser, the World's Best Mouser 2023 Schedule: Week of Jan. 9: Unsinkable Sam the Sailing Cat Week of Jan. 16: Chief Mouser to the Cabinet Office Week of Jan. 23: Hamlet and Matilda, The Algonquin Hotel Cats Week of Jan. 30: First Cat to the United States of America Week of Feb. 6: Felicette the Astrocat Week of Feb. 13: Ernest Heminway's Polydactlys Week of Feb. 20: F.D.C. 教師の専門知識と資格
My name is Emeliann and I am a university senior majoring in secondary education in the social sciences, with a minor in history. My specialties lie in American and European history, as well as American government and politics; my interests extend into unconventional (aka "fun") history, art history, and art analysis.
I aim to engage and interest students through a variety of classes that integrate learning and socializing. I have worked with learners, ages 6 to 18, in a variety of professional and volunteer positions, and I continue to work with 11 to 18-year-olds in my academic studies. There is nothing I find more fulfilling than seeing the light of understanding bloom within a student's mind.
To best encourage student learning, I plan on utilizing student-centered and led discussions; I've found that such discussions empower students to take control of their own learning and feel confident in their critical and creative thinking, teamwork, and socialization skills. These discussions also help in developing independence and a sense of educational accountability, vital skills for students of all ages. As a student myself, I recognize the value of time and desire to organize classes that fit a variety of schedules, for both parents and learners. Just as beauty is in the eye of the beholder, learning is in the hands of the student.
I highly value the work of parents who are active members of their child(ren)'s learning, and I cannot wait to be a part of their educational and academic careers!
