Students will learn about idioms, specifically idioms using "color" words, such as being "caught red-handed," "got the green light" and "feeling blue," just to name a few. They will learn what they mean, why they are used, how they are used in sentences, and how we can use them in everyday speech and writing to intensify the feeling of a situation or event. ("I was tickled pink when I received a puppy for my birthday!") The first 30 minutes will be open discussion about idioms, along with the various examples, including their literal and figurative meanings along with illustrations being shown to deepen their understanding. The last 30 minutes will be the students making application on paper -- writing their own sentences or a brief story with the idioms we discussed, along with illustrations to go with their writings.学習到達目標
In this introductory class, students will increase their vocabulary by learning about idioms and how they can be used in speaking and in writing.

I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and a Master of Arts Degree in Teaching.
