This is a hands-on sensory camp!!! Must love to get messy! Day One: We will have introductions and share with the class your favorite thing about pumpkins. We will read, "How Big Could Your Pumpkin Grow" by Wendell Minor. Then we will carve and scoop out the pumpkin insides (this will need adult help). Next we will measure out our ingredients for the "volcano". Teacher will lead group in constructing the explosion. Day Two: We will read, "How Many Seeds In A Pumpkin" by Margaret McNamara. Then we will create our very own pumpkin slime with adult help! While they play with their slime, teacher will read, " Pumpkin Jack" by Will Hubbell.

Adult help is needed both days for carving pumpkins, removing the pulp, and measuring out ingredients.

Day One: warm water mixed with food coloring to fill pumpkin 3/4. 4-5 drops of dish soap, 2 tablespoons of baking soda, and 1/4 cup white vinegar. small pumpkin, measuring cup, spoon and knife (adults only), and a tray to do this all on. Day Two: small baking pumpkin, 1/4 cup liquid starch(laundry aisle), 1/2 cup washable clear glue, 1/2 cup water, measuring cup, spoon and knife (adults only) and a tray.

Currently I am a Children's Programmer at my local library. I teach Music & Move storytime classes to ages 3-5. My classes are very popular and always packed! Parents can tell that I honestly love my job and care for their children.
I also teach a montly STEM club for elementary age learners. The learners actively engage in their own learning by completing science experiments, engineering challenges, and more! Look for my Outschool classes that involve those STEM/STEAM ideas!
