このクラスで学べること
In this ongoing class children will work on their reading fluency and reading comprehension. Each week we will do guided reading with first grade level material followed by reading comprehension questions. Class Layout: 1. Welcome 2. Warm Up 3. Round Robin Reading 4. Reading Comprehension Questions 5. Closing Reading is a powerful tool and I think fostering a love of reading at a young age can open up the world. Reading material will be provided within each class so learners do not need to purchase anything. They will need something to write with and something write on. We will read the passage a minimum of two times before moving on to the question. Participation is encouraged as I would like each learner to have the opportunity to read aloud. Microphones do not need to be muted unless the background environment is loud or a learner is interrupting other learners. Please note that all reading material will fall within a first grade level. Teaching is my happy place!
In 2012, I received an AA in Social/Behavioral Sciences. A few years later, I returned to school for my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training Certificate and began teaching both yoga and fitness classes to children. I earned my Bachelors in Educational Studies, with an emphasis on Elementary Education in Summer 2023.
I have worked with elementary students in small group settings on reading strategies, writing improvement and math concepts since 2013. Currently I am a stay at home mom to my 13 month old daughter.
I believe in meeting your child where they are at and helping them find growth, foster a sense of curiosity and discover a love of learning.
In my writing classes, I make the task of writing a paragraph fun rather than daunting. In my yoga classes we combine engaging activities with movement. In my reading and book club classes we take our love of books and work on both our reading and reading comprehension skills.
Reading is my number one hobby. And I need more bookshelves. Always. My husband and I are recent transplants to the lovely state of Utah with our two dogs, Lola and Zoey.レビュー
