We’ll explore some of the quirks about how we communicate, identifying our growth points and the power of YET! Then we’ll dive right into the speaking games, all based around student-voted topics.

Class includes three rounds of rapid fire game play -

PODCAST - Get into the groove by speaking on a topic you’re familiar with, but be ready to share! This group game involves passing the mic over to your co-host whenever the game says so!

UM, LIKE - We’ll crank up the difficulty in this partner game that focuses on speaking without filler words (like, um, er). Can you clear up your language?!

LONG STORY SHORT - After a feedback discussion to reflect, we’ll wrap things up with a whole-class game of storytelling… and retelling! This summary challenge game asks everyone to tell the same story, but with less time to do so every round!

This class is meant to be a fun, stress free way to participate in exercises meant to strengthen communication and self-expression skills. Students should walk away knowing that speech and performance skills, like all things, only get better with practice, and that anyone has the power to improve!
