There is no compulsory homework at all, but we will all be encouraged to read and share stories that link to the interests of the class. I will share books occasionally in class and can provide book suggestions for any interested learners or parents.

Enter the Outschool Olympus! You can join us whenever you like!

In each of our weekly classes, we explore a different story or figure from Ancient Greece. Some of them you will know - like the Gorgon Medusa and Apollo - but some you might not know, like Niobe and Nike. This class is designed to be fun, conversational, rich and challenging.

Ancient Greece has so many myths, and there are so many ways we can explore them - as storytellers, poets, artists, sculptors, archaeologists, historians and just as funny people noticing Greek things around us in our daily lives.

Our Outschool Olympus is the place for Greekery and Geekery. You are warmly invited.

In each session, there will be a topic that I have chosen to share, which will be listed below for each week.

The one responsibility we have to each other is to be respectful and make space for everybody to share. We are all equally important and we are all unique - I want you to enjoy the class in the way that works for you, and I want you to build friendships with other Greeky fans.

I prefer the stories that are a bit weird and wonderful, and I like for us to find the humour in these odd tales. I believe that we can have a lot of laughter and a lot of learning.
学習到達目標
You are going to learn a whole lot of stories about Ancient Greece: this includes myths, legends, stories of heroes and war, and also the stories of the gods and goddesses.

You will get lots of chances to share your own stories and facts, and to learn with each other in the class too.

We will focus on how to be an engaging storyteller and how to use Ancient Greek tales to help our thinking. This is a class to build your confidence and friendships, just as much as your speaking and Greek knowledge.

We will have a lot of fun in class with all these weird stories.

The Ancient Greek stories are often violent. I am an experienced primary teacher, and tell them in a way that is appropriate, at a level similar to that found in children's literature. I make it quite cartoonish where I can, and avoid stories that are too mature in their content.
