By the end of the 9 sessions, students should understand the basic parts of a simple sentence (subject, verb, objects) and the ability to diagram basic sentences. This knowledge will help them determine if their own basic sentences are correct which will improve their writing skills. 

Although most of my classroom experieince was in middle school, I have taught a variety of subjects and ages for over 25 years. I have taught diagramming as an important skill for many of those years.

There will be a small amount of homework for each session. The homework should not take more than 20 minutes. Students will be learning the basics of grammar and then moving on to writing their own sentences and practicing diagramming.

There will be a brief quiz at the end of the class. Students will receive a letter grade based on the results of the quiz and their class participation.
