5年生スペリングフォーカス

Each week will feature a new spelling list of 12 words. The list will be available in the classroom to print off before the meeting time. Together we will look for patterns and go over spelling rules that may apply to the words in the list. We will also have one or two "outlaw" words every week, that just don't follow any rules. We will also go over the definitions of the words and the parts of speech. Homework will be assigned to give more practice with the words. There will be one meeting per week, there will not be a test for this class. This is a subscription class, students can join at any time. Each week's lesson will stand alone.

Week of Sept 18: words with x
Week of Sept 25: Bossy r words
Week of Oct 2: Long e words
Week of Oct 16: Long o words
Week of Oct 23: ou words
Week of Nov 6: oi words
Week of Nov 13: Long e words
Week of Nov 20: The sound of aw
Week of Nov 27: Irregular past tense verbs
Week of Dec 4: Adding suffixes to words ending in y.
Week of Dec 11: Homophones
