Welcome to my Kinder Readiness Class. I have designed this class as a review to help students strengthen what they learned in Preschool and Kinder. The class will be held for 8 weeks and will focus on early literacy skills ranging from phonics, decoding, and using sight words. The class will also focus on math skills and handwriting skills. Hello and welcome to your kinder readiness class. I have over 20 years teaching experience and am a certified Reading Specialist. My first assignment as a teacher was Kindergarten.I have had a special place in my heart for this age group ever since. I currently help design curriculum for each grade level and have designed a list of readiness skills and a reading list that you will receive to help your child succeed in the next academic school year. My goal for each student is to help them find joy and confidence in learning. I am a passionate and patient teacher that specializes in making each student feel special and comfortable with learning new topics or mastering topics they do not feel so confident in.
Each week, students will receive a review sheet of everything we discussed in class. You can save these PDFs for practice and review. I will be using a white board for our classes. It will help if your child has a small whiteboard or 10x12 pad of paper to practice along with me during class.(kinder writing lined paper preferred)
Students will receive supplementary practice weeks each week to use for reinforcement of skills that were covered in class.
