Who should take this course?

This course is designed for students who have already taken Geometry, or possibly for advanced students who would like to preview what Geometry will look like.

What will be taught? 

As a licensed math teacher, I have gone through the topics and skills taught in Geometry and hand-picked the ones that I feel will be most beneficial to students in future math courses.

Here are the lessons that will be covered: 

Week 1, Day 1: Logical Reasoning/Conditional Statements
Week 1, Day 2: Special Angle Pairs (Parallel Lines Cut by Transversals)
Week 1, Day 3: Slope of Parallel and Perpendicular Lines
Week 1, Day 4: Coordinate Geometry

Week 2, Day 1: Congruent Triangles
Week 2, Day 2: Trigonometry Part 1
Week 2, Day 3: Trigonometry Part 2 
Week 2, Day 4: Equations of Circles

What will my student need? 

All of the materials I will be using in class will be uploaded to the classroom ahead of time. Students will want to print these out before class and have a writing utensil (probably one with an eraser!). Students who do not have access to a printer can simply use a notebook, however, printing the handouts is the best option. Students will also want a calculator, which can be on their phone or computer if they do not have one. Some students may want a ruler or straightedge for problems involving graphing. 

How will the course be set up? 

I will be re-teaching each lesson by going over definitions, rules, and examples. Students will be given opportunities throughout class to do examples on their own. Extension work will be posted in the classroom (optional). For the first few minutes of the next class, students will be able to ask questions about the extension work. Extension work might be in the form of an activity, worksheet, or game through Gimkit or Kahoot (students can sign up for free accounts. I am not affiliated with either sites, nor representative of them.)

Other important information: 

This course is not a traditional Geometry course, but rather a condensed review course for students to brush-up and practice skills they might have forgotten. Students who have not taken Geometry are welcome to join this class, but they may find it difficult to keep up or follow the lessons.
