このクラスで学べること
In this course, students will be introduced to 5 body systems, including the circulatory, musculoskeletal, respiratory, nervous and digestive systems. Using a mixture of lecture, slide presentation and class discussion, students will learn the basic names, structure and function of organs in each system. The class content is appropriate for children from ages 10 to 18. The information will serve as a foundation for more in-depth study of each system. Students considering a career in nursing or other healthcare field or simply preparing for anatomy and physiology classes will receive a broad overview of each system. No prior knowledge or experience is needed to take this class. No homework will be required. However, students are encouraged to bring to class any questions they have regarding the covered body systems.

I am a registered nurse with over 30 years' experience in healthcare. I have worked in various settings in nursing including nursing facilities, intensive care, and home nursing. Nursing is my passion and I truly enjoy helping to make the lives of my patients and their families better. One of my favorite parts of nursing is educating patients, families, my community, and new nurses. Over my career as a nurse, I have trained multiple new nurses, teaching them not only skills and procedures, but sharing with them my passion and philosophy regarding nursing. It is my belief that truly caring for and treating each patient as though they are my own family is essential to being a great nurse.
Throughout my adulthood, I have also had the opportunity to educate children of all ages as an online educator and a private tutor in elementary, middle and high school sciences. To me, teaching and nursing together is the best of both worlds!
I look forward to working with young, aspiring nurses in my Future Nurses' Academy. We will cover nursing as a career and a way of life. Students will be able to learn the who, what, why, when and where of nursing in my classes. We will also look at many topics in nursing in detail. I hold not only a nursing degree, but a Bachelor's of Science in biology, so I am well prepared to tutor students in the courses they will need to master to obtain a nursing degree, such as biology, anatomy and physiology, and other sciences.
When not taking care of patients or working with students, I enjoy spending time with my family and dogs, singing, playing the piano and scuba diving. I cannot wait to meet your student and walk with them on this exciting and fulfilling journey that is nursing. レビュー
