In this class, students will learn the basics of paragraph writing. From learning how to write a topic sentence to ending with a conclusion that readers will remember, this class will cover it all. In a time when so much is communicated via email or text message, being able to communicate efficiently and effectively is invaluable. For reluctant writers or those less confident in their writing, we will incorporate discussions and games throughout the lesson to make things more engaging. Writing doesn't have to feel like a chore. It can be fun! If there are any particular topics or areas that you'd like your child to focus on, please have them come prepared with some ideas.(ex: descriptive paragraph, responding to a specific question, opinion paragraph)

The goal of this class is for students to become paragraph writing experts. I also hope that they learn to enjoy writing and see it as an opportunity for creative expression.

Please bring a few sheets (or notebook) of lined paper and a pencil. If you have the flexibility to do so, find a spot in your house that you are most comfortable working. This should also be a space that is free of distraction.

I have my teaching license and Masters in education. I currently teach third grade in person. Prior to that, I taught third and first grade online and worked as a reading and math interventionist.
