This multiday class/camp is a survey class on function families. The functions are mainly from Algebra 1 but overlap a little bit with Algebra 2. The class will begin with a sorting activity in which the students sort equations and graphs into groups. In the first class, the students will learn to identify each function by its equation and by its graph and name certain specific characteristics of each graph. On the second day, the students will explore transformations by graphing several functions and discovering the transformations to the graph of each and that the same transformations apply to ALL of the function families. During the third day, the students will apply knowledge of each function family to real life situations. The fourth day will culminate with an activity where the students show mastery of the material.
