このクラスで学べること
In this class, students will be taught thematic French vocabulary and expressions using a musical, play-based approach! The class will begin with a brief hello to each student and individual check in. Next, we will learn thematic vocabulary through various mediums: poems, games and flashcards. Each class will also involve an interactive activity and an opportunity for your child to speak French. Students will be taught to use French language in their discussions. There will also be a show and tell where students bring an object to describe en Français! The class will end with a drawing activity to solidify topics covered in class. The goal will be for students to be able to speak at minimum one complete sentence in French based on the theme/topic. Class themes: January: Winter + Winter Animals February: Castles, Love and Family March: Size and shapes April: Signs of Spring and Easter May: Insects and Flowers June: Zoo and Summer July: Under the sea August: Summer fun September: Back to school October: Fall, Halloween November: Spiders, Bears and Dinosaurs December: Holidays Everything will be taught in French but will use English as well to aide with understanding. There will be lots of repetition and interaction in French! This class is suitable for children with none or some French background but not meant as an immersion class or for students who are fluent.

Hello! My name is Anna Maria Marando and I have been a Kindergarten French Immersion teacher in B.C, Canada for the past 10 years! I am excited to be teaching French in this virtual platform.
Some of the classes I offer:
- Sing and Play with French Circle Time: A thematic approach to learning French vocabulary
- Private tutoring for grades K-1 French Immersion (can be ongoing based on students needs)
- Various seasonal classes such as Winter Animals, Easter, Food, Insects, Halloween, Christmas, Zoo, my Body...and more added regularly!
Teaching Philosophy:
I love teaching French through songs and play-based experiences! My philosophy behind teaching is to make my virtual classes fun, playful and engaging all while learning a new language! When learning a new language, music is the best way to retain vocabulary. The catchy melodies and repetitive language help children learn quickly, all while having fun! I believe its important when learning a new language that children speak as much as possible! So my classes involve a lot of interaction!
Background:
In 2020, I discovered that there was a need for more French options for young children, especially in a virtual setting. I started teaching a French Circle Time class via ZOOM and LOVED the experience! So I decided to pursue this new path which has brought me to Outschool!
About Me:
I am tri-lingual myself. I grew up speaking Italian and English and learned French in school. When I am not teaching, I am usually with my 3 daughters or cooking something in the kitchen! I can’t wait to meet you all!
